This piece was written after 4 years of accompanying trombone players during my undergraduate career. It was written for a friend of mine and draws inspiration from some of the composers and pieces we each liked playing and listening to, both in and out of the world of fine art music. It is loosely programmatic, following the story of one who has fallen out of favor and grapples with internal and external demons.
